'SWEET TEMPORARY' FINE ART SERIES
my vintage-inspired APPLIQUE art quilt series, CELEBRATING quiet moments
SEARCHING FOR CHARLIE
29" x 28.5"
This work captures the blurred line between reality and imagination as an author daydreams about stepping into the shoes of his own creation. He personifies his unlikely hero—a character forged by the chaos of war and celebrated for his bold antics. In his mind, he becomes the civilian flyer resisting Britain’s Royal Air Force, who is attempting to recruit him for covert missions behind the lines.
This narrative explores the tension between identity and aspiration, as the author’s daydream becomes a means of grappling with themes of heroism, duty, and autonomy. It reflects the creative process as an act of escapism and self-exploration, where the boundaries between the creator and the created dissolve. Ultimately, the work examines the ways storytelling allows us to imagine alternate lives and confront the complexities of power, loyalty, and personal freedom.

MISSED TRAINS
52" x 42"
After arriving just in time to watch the train depart, we had an hour to wait, so we sat down in a small pub. As I glanced to my left, I noticed an older man sitting alone in a corner booth, enjoying his Guinness with a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. The simplicity of this encounter—a brief exchange of space and time—became a moment of connection between the past and the present.
Through this work, I explore quiet reflection and unexpected connections. The simplicity of the moment reminds me that sometimes, the most meaningful encounters are the ones we don’t expect. It celebrates the beauty found in everyday life and the fleeting moments that stay with us.
UNCLES PLAYING MARBLES
42" x 32"
This piece captures a timeless moment of childhood—boys playing marbles in the grass at the turn of the century. The scene evokes nostalgia, where simple joys and shared camaraderie define the rhythm of youth.
Celebrating the enduring magic of childhood, this work highlights the quiet, universal beauty in everyday play. It invites viewers to reflect on their own memories and the timeless value of connection, curiosity, and joy.

SUMMER TOMATOES
37" x 48"
This piece is a tribute to my great grandfather's legacy, a celebration of the harmony between human hands and the earth. It is an invitation to reflect on the beauty of small, everyday rituals and the stories they carry forward through generations.
LINCOLNVILLE REVISITED
50" x 40"
This work captures a fleeting, intimate moment: a man sitting alone in the quiet first light of day, immersed in the pages of a book. The pale morning light brushes his face, illuminating not just the scene but the profound sense of peace that comes with being fully present in a moment.
This piece is a meditation on stillness and introspection—I invite the viewer to step into that tranquil space, to find their own quiet moment amid the chaos, and to reflect on the profound simplicity of being alone with one’s thoughts. This is not just a depiction of solitude but a celebration of it—a homage to the restorative power of morning, of stories, and of stillness.
